Free Candy Van Sparks Fear in California Neighborhood

Dominique Bellow was left with a sickening feeling in the pit of her stomach after seen an eerie white van parked outside of a Natomas, California Walmart. As a mother, frightening possibilities filled her mind after noticing the words Free Candy written in red paint down the sides with blood red colored hand prints adorning the suspicious van.

Initially after seeing the vehicle Bellows attempted to dismiss it as nothing, though after she noticed the it yet again (this time parked in her neighborhood) she instructed her son to take a photo just in case.

Lawrence tells CBS 13:

It looked too fake to be true, but I didnt want to get a closer look for sure, he says. I was kind of nervous about it; I didnt know what was going on so I just wanted to get evidence in case anything happened.

As other people began to notice the van, concerns grew:

Turns out the white van was just a joke.

According to Sierra DeBlonk, the van belonged to a family friend who was on his way to the annual Burning Man festival in Nevada. She says they didnt think it would cause such a stir.
